MUSIC MINISTRY
The music ministry of First Baptist Church exists to provide an environment where every believer can develop a lifestyle of personal worship, participate in dynamic corporate worship and where non-believers are confronted with the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a creative and compelling way.
God equips each of us with gifts, talents, abilities, desires, and passions for different areas of ministry. We believe your area of service and ministry should line up with your passion, talent and spiritual gifts.
When you come to choir or orchestra, you don’t just bring your talent. Your spiritual gifts, heart, abilities, personality and experience make our ministry a unique body. In music, the level of talent may vary widely, but the passion and desire is the same for all. Our goal is to “Love God, Love People, and Tell the World.” This is a place where you can serve for the long-haul or for a season. We are looking for folks who love to worship God!
In 1 Chronicles 15:16-19, King David appoints the musicians to lead the nation of Israel in worship. This was their calling from God. Colossians 4:17 says, “Take heed to the ministry which you have received from the Lord, that you may fulfill it.”
Our Sunday Service provide an “entrance point” for our guests. Music, as well as other artistic expressions, play a great role in the introduction of our church to everyone who attends. Many contemporary churches have done away with the choir and orchestra, but at First Baptist Church we are committed to the role they fill.
CONCERTS
Several times during the year, FBC Greensboro hosts guest artists in concert. Some of these events are free and some are ticketed events. Either way, we hope you will be on the lookout for our next concerts and take part in the experience. We like to invite the community to these events and through them, share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone who attends.
