WOMEN'S MINISTRY
Our Women’s Ministry of First Baptist Church is always working together to involve our women in reaching out in Jesus’ name to our community. We want to work and grow together in spreading the love of Jesus to those within our congregation and in our community.
We support the Missions ministry of our church by sponsoring a Women’s Breakfast to kick off our yearly Lottie Moon Offering for International Missions. We sponsor and advertise the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American missions. We also support the Georgia Baptist Missions effort by collecting funds and items.
We have collected snacks for local caregivers at several facilities, food for the Greene County Food Pantry, and cookies for our local law enforcement agencies. We’ve collected children’s books to support our local preschool and also ATLAS Ministry here in Greensboro. We’ve “showered” our local Women’s Shelter and First Call Pregnancy Center with needed items.
For the past several years, we have sponsored a Community Give Away. We collect gently used household items from our congregation and invite the local community to come and take them for their use.
Every year, we collect funds and items for the children who live at the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home in Meansville. We provide them with backpacks and school supplies in August and gift cards at Christmas. We have provided blankets, pillows, sheets, art supplies, Bibles, and other needed items. Our women have a heart for children!
We support the teaching ministry of our church by conducting a weekly Women’s Bible Study on Wednesday morning and evening for women of our church and guests. We meet at 10:00 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. every week with a short break during the summer. We conduct a yearly Women’s Retreat with a guest presenter to bring our women closer to each other and to God.
We also reach out to our women with several “crafty” events each year which include food, fellowship, and lots of fun!
